WE Have the power to effect positive change in our lives

Acts has a great reference to positive change and how the Holy Spirit gives us the power to do so. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8.

One of the biggest things Christ brought to us is the possibility to receive the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit resides in a believer, He changes everything.

If a man were weak and timid, he would immediately receive strength and boldness. If he were sick, his body would be healed. If he were in the dark about a particular situation, he would receive the guidance that he required. There’s absolutely nothing in the world compared to the presence of the Holy Spirit in a child of God.

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.”  The moment we received the Holy Spirit, we received the Ability of God into our life. It means we have the dynamic ability of God to effect changes.

Jesus never exaggerated when He spoke; He spoke the absolute truth. When He said, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” He meant what He said. He carefully chose the expression to communicate the quality and potency of the ability that we would have.

After the Holy Spirit came to live within us, we received inherent ability. This ability resides in us and functions independent of any other ability. With the ability of the Holy Spirit in us, we do not need to ask God to give us any other ability from above. We have an inherent ability within us to effect any changes we desire. It means we can effect changes in our bodies and every other area in our life.

It is not God’s desire and purpose for us to be a victim of sickness, disease, or infirmity.

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Romans 8:37.

Surprisingly many of us live as victims and suffer infirmities in our bodies. The truth is, that is not the life Jesus bought for us. “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” Simple truth, when we accept and understand it, our life will be changed forever.

The Holy Spirit Is Our Advantage

Some Christians have not learned how to put the ability of the Holy Spirit in them to work, so they are continually looking for help and seeking someone to pray for them. It is essential to understand that if the Holy Spirit lives within us, we do not need any other outside ability; He is the ability giver. Therefore, we should never live as a victim of sickness, because we have all that we require within us to change any situation in our lives.

Praying in the Spirit is one crucial way to activate the ability of the Holy Spirit in us and effect positive change in our lives. ^“For if you have the ability to speak in tongues,  you will be talking only to God, since people won’t be able to understand you. You will be speaking by the power of the Spirit,  but it will all be mysterious”. 1 Corinthians 14:2. Through praying in the Spirit, our spirits communicate with God and speak forth mysteries.

Some Christians do not believe in praying in the spirit, and that is the reason they have many conflicts in their lives. They do not know it, but that is where the ability is.

“A person who speaks in tongues is strengthened personally ……” 1 Corinthians 14:4.

If we are weak and overwhelmed by a condition in our bodies, we should spend quality time praying in the spirit. It won’t be long before the ability of God will rise within us and prevail over that lousy condition.

Beware that the ability of the Holy Spirit in us is more significant than anything in this present world.

^“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world”. 1 John 4:4.

When His ability is at work in us, no sickness can stand against us successfully. We may have been born with a deformed heart; it doesn’t matter anymore; we do not have to suffer any more crisis. Now that we have the Holy Spirit leaving in us, we can effect changes. We should pray in the Spirit and activate the ability of the Holy Spirit. Be strengthen through the Spirit and see the changes you desire in Jesus Name!
