FREE FROM SIN
Righteousness consciousness
To be conscious of your righteousness and to live free from sin is to be aware of who you are in God, your rightful rights in God, your position, and what belongs to you as a Christian. When you are conscious of the righteousness of God that belongs to you, you are aware of His Health, Peace, Longevity, and every other helpful thing you could imagine.
The act of consciousness makes you live and experience the lifestyle you want. This awareness will enable you to start speaking and confessing what you believe, whether positive or negative. A man’s communication can tell his beliefs and area of consciousness.
Righteousness is our Godly nature
Righteousness is God’s nature, producing God’s rightness in the human Spirit. When imparted to the human Spirit, It gives a man the ability to stand in the presence of God without a feeling of guilt, inferiority complex, or condemnation.
Man’s heart always yearns for freedom from guilt living; freedom is in Christ only. This yearning gave birth to all the world’s religions, men wanting to stand fearlessly in the presence of a righteous God. But this has eluded them, and the overwhelming sense of unworthiness has made them conclude that no man can ever be righteous before God.
But this could not be further from the truth. When you are born again, righteousness instantly becomes yours.
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Corinthians 5:19,21
Do you know that righteousness has already been inputted to the account of the whole world? God already reconciled the world as a whole unto Himself, not counting their trespasses against them; Before you were born again. God already made righteousness available to you. How much do you think He values you now that you are born again? Jesus was made to be sin for us so we could become the righteousness of God in Him. If only all believers would know and take advantage of this righteousness. Our results will be outstanding.
No neutral! Sin consciousness or righteousness consciousness.
Maybe even more important than the knowledge of righteousness is righteousness consciousness. When Jesus became our sin sacrifice on the Cross, He destroyed the hold of sin over our lives. But beyond that, He conquered sin consciousness [ nature of sin we inherited from Adam].
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:14.
Sin consciousness is worse than the act of sinning itself. It can cripple a man’s self-esteem and make weak and ineffective his faith. This consciousness of sinful nature makes a Christian feel unworthy in the presence of God. It may not be due to a particular sin because most Christians live right but generally due to a lack of knowledge of one’s abilities in the presence of God. That is why the devil uses it as a tool against Christians. Because he knows once he can keep them in this realm, he can whip them time and time again.
How To Overcome Negative Emotions
We need to understand our righteousness in Christ. Righteousness is our nature and is also a gift from God. Righteousness consciousness brings boldness; it gives rise to fearless Christians, one who knows he’s right and is ready to insist on it. Let me tell you why if you can stand in the presence of God without any feeling of inferiority, guilt, or condemnation. You can stand in the devil’s presence and all the cohorts of hell combined. And when you are bold, your faith is significant, and you can speak words of power.
Righteousness consciousness influences the productivity of our Christian walk.
Therefore, let us come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things. 1 John 3:20.
With righteousness consciousness, you won,t waver. The primary reason people linger is a lack of confidence in who they are in Christ. They are not sure if they are accepted by God or not.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6.
That is the area in which Christians stand or fall, the consciousness of righteousness. Satan does not accuse Christians of God; he only comes to you and tries to make you doubt your nature in God to understand your sense of your worthiness. That is what he uses against Adam. We all know that Adam was made in the image of God. It means he had God’s image, and it does not make sense to try to prove his identity to Satan in the garden. Genesis 3.
Righteousness consciousness empowers your authority.
And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Acts 3:16.
Peter could tell the lame man at the Beautiful gate of the temple confidently that such as I have to give I thee:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk because apart from knowing he had the authority to use the Name of Jesus, he also was conscious of his right standing with Him. Paul was able to say fearlessly to the devil in the girl with the Spirit of divination. “come out of her” [Actes 16:16-18] because he was aware of his right standing with God.
Look at Jesus; He talked to a tree [Mark 11:13-20], the sea [Mark 4:37-39], devils [Mark 5:1-13], both animate and inanimate things. Why? He came from God and was one with God.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17.
Knowing who you are in Christ enables you to live freely
So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free. John 8:36.
A story was told about Abraham Lincoln on how he visited a slave auction ground. He saw how the slave buyers were mean, bettered, and angry toward the enslaved people, so he decided to put an offer on one of the little girls, and he succeeded in owning this slave girl by putting in a higher bid.
Abraham Lincoln was now the owner of this little girl. The girl appeared to be very bettered, angry and looked at Abraham Lincoln on his face and said, what next?
Abraham Lincoln responded, what do you mean? She said, what do you want me to do for you? He said nothing. I bought you to be free. Free to do whatever I want? Abraham Lincoln said yes, free to do whatever you want.
The girl looked at Abraham Lincoln on his face with tears and smiles and said to him I would go with you and do whatever you want me to do.
She is free to do whatever she wants, exactly what Christ did for us.
Christ’s gift of freedom has no clause. Therefore, we willingly offer an act of service to Him like what the girl did to Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln gave this girl a gift of freedom not because the girl was kind to him or not because Abraham Lincoln needed service from the girl in return. Not at all.
Abraham Lincoln’s heart was pure toward the little girl, and he was willing to sacrifice his wealth to free the girl. So the scripture said while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
