HEALING IN YOUR HANDS
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name, they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17,18.
If you will notice, Jesus did not say, “Those who believe shall lay hands on the sick, they shall pray for half an hour, they shall work up tremendous emotions, shall roll on the floor, shall kick and holler and scream, they shall shake all over the place, and then the sick shall be healed.” No, he very says, “Those who believe shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
You will notice that the Bible does not leave any doubt. It does not say some of you or just a few of you who believe; it simply states that all those who believe will be able to lay hands on the sick, and the sick are going to recover.
Believers are the ones who are qualified to heal the sick! But who is a believer? A believer believes that Jesus is the Son of God and the Redeemer and has accepted Him into his life, field with the Holy Spirit and with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
A believer is also the one who believes he can cast out devils in the Name of Jesus. Who believes he can handle Satan and his demons; believes he can lay hands on the sick and heal them. “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10.
You have to believe in divine healing if you want signs, wonders, and miracles to follow you as a Christ believer. You have to believe that healing is for everyday living else you won’t be able to pray for the sick, or they won’t recover when you lay hands on them.
You have to believe that the Lord Jesus Christ himself has commissioned you to cast out devils, or you will never cast them out. When any Spirit-filled believer lays hands on someone, the power of God goes out of them into the other person. If you are Spirit-filled, you have in you the very same resurrection power that raises Jesus Christ from the grave; the power of the Holy Spirit.
“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. “ Romans 8:11.
You have that power residing in you at all times! You do not have to work up an emotion. I never felt anything when I am privileged to minister healing to someone or a group of people through hand laying but except the expression of joy when I touch anyone in Faith with the knowledge of God’s resident power working in and through me.
Touching does a lot in many areas of our lives. For example, when my wife and I stand together, you will often see us reach out and touch each other’s hands or shoulders. The most beautiful thought or imaginations can be going on, but when she reaches over and touch my hand, or I feel hers, somehow in a lovely little way, that touch send out a love you signals to both of us.
When you were a little child, did you ever fall and skin your knee and come running to your mother, screaming, hollering, and carrying on? Probably she just loved you, but that touch did something exceptional for you, didn’t it? Even when you are not saved, there is a lot accomplished by touching human love.
Did anyone ever pat your back in a hospital when you were recovering from an operation? That did not say, “I hate you,” did it? Instead, it said, “Everything is going to be all right!”
If you have ever been bereaved, hasn’t it meant a lot then people just patted you, even if they couldn’t say a word?
Even without words, that little touch says, “I understand your grief, and my heart goes out to you.”
We need to realize how important our hands are in our Christian walk. We need to be aware of the importance of a touch!
Statistics show that babies given only a minimum amount of handling are inclined to be fretful, irritable, and not as healthy as babies picked up and loved. Conversely, children who are loved, played with, and even just held have a much more loving disposition.
Sometimes people will say, “It is not God’s will to heal.” When people say this, we need to remember that they do not know the scripture and God’s true nature.
That is why in Felix Harcourt Ministries, we have a mandate to “Unveil God’s true nature to the nation and people of the world and demonstrate the Character of the Spirit.”
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38.
It is God’s will for all of his children to be healed and remain in health. God anointed Jesus. What was the purpose of that? God anointed Jesus so that Jesus would have the power to do what God wanted Him to do. When God called Him, He put His stamp of approval on Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and then, “He went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.”
Acts 10 verse 38 says that Jesus went about “healing all that were oppressed of the devil.”
Sickness comes from the devil. God can take ugly situations and make a miracle out of them, but God is not the one who puts disease on His faith-filled children. But without Faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6.
I have heard people say, “God sent this sickness on them to teach them a lesson; he is teaching them something.” I find it difficult to believe that God would give His children something as horrible as a sickness? Would you do that to your kids? And think how much more God loves us than we love our earthly children!
[The Lord answered] “Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15.
I believe all sickness comes from the devil, but God can take it, turn it around and make it the greatest miracle in your life.
I can relate this to what happened to me in 1983 when I was involved in an automobile accident. A woman driver ran into me when I was standing at the side of the road and knocked me off. I wasn’t supposed to be alive, neither was I thought to go through educational training; that is how serious it was, but instead, God turned it into the most extraordinary thing that ever happened to me because I found Jesus as a result! God took what the devil did and turned it around! Even when I recovered and grew up as a teenager, I began fornicating everywhere before coming to an end of my miserable life, and I accepted Jesus as the Lord of my life.
God did not cause that accident to happen. Neither did He have any intention to make me miserable in life through my evil choices. God had nothing to do with that part of it. But God did take that circumstance and turn it into a miracle.
“….For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the devil’s works.
1 John 3:8b.
Jesus was not sent here to create problems; he was sent to destroy the devil himself’s very works. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; Luke 4:18.
Just like Jesus, we have been anointed to preach the gospel and to heal the sick wherever we are; whether we are pastors, brothers, sisters, or some other thing we might call, we are always anointed to do what Christ did.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” John 20:21.
We are all called to heal the sick. The healing power is in us; stretch forth your hand toward any ill or touch yourself if you are sick and command it out in the Name of Jesus.
You don’t have to say, “Oh Lord, anoint me one more time.” You have been anointed and appointed, and that is why you can go out at all times and know that the anointing of God rests upon you.
CONSCIOUSNESS
We should have this consciousness that we have been dispatched to do the same things He did when he was on this earth.
And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. Matthew 10:1.
There are many examples in the Bible of how Jesus healed the sick through the laying of hands. So my words for you is to believe in the healing power of God in you. Believing and putting what you believe to work is what makes the difference. That is why brother James said in his writing that “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:14.
Your consciousness determines the effectiveness of your miracle hands, a deep-down knowing, and conviction that your hands can produce supernatural miracles. As a believer, you should walk with this consciousness that your hands transmit the power of God in you.
There is no special training to know our genders. We have this knowledge in us, and we are conscious of our genders. If anyone needs to be told the kind of gender they have, it means they are mentally unstable.
You have been created in God’s image; that His Spirit resides in you, and the scripture has told you that if you lay hands on the sick, they will recover. Not they may, but sure they will recover. Your hands are too powerful because you have the life of God in you, so live with this consciousness, and it works.
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 3:16.
The whole of your body carries the life of your heavenly Father, and with that life in you, you can do extraordinary things on earth. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11.
That scripture unveils that the same power that brought Jesus Christ from the grave dwells in you. This power working in you gives your body extraordinary life. It makes the hand of every Christ believer alive and transmits this life to anyone who comes in contact with them.
The consciousness is what makes it work, so when you lay hands on someone or anything, you should know that life is transmitted to produce miracles.
Christians are the embodiment of signs and wonders, and we should walk with this consciousness wherever we go. The world is waiting for us, the sons of God, to solve their problems and not add to them.
“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19.
