HOW TO Believe For Healing
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell how Jesus Christ was directly involved in His healing ministry or other words; how He was physically involved in His healing ministries. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38.
The scripture above explains how Christ was practically responding to the health needs of humanity. He was able to do so because He was physically present in a human body; that is why He could touch people with His hands. All because He was physically accessible, and He never turned anyone back, neither did He discriminate against anyone. He healed everyone who ever needed healing and helped everyone who needed help from Him because healing and doing good things is His nature and Has not changed. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8.
GOD‘S HEALTH IS IN YOU
Your situation is not hopeless irrespective of what you think you might have done. Jesus doesn’t respond to you because of who you are. He responds to you because of who He is and what you believe He is.
“For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet. The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. But Jesus said to her, ”Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.” Then He said to her, ”For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. Mark 7:25-30.
From the story, you can tell that this woman was not qualified for healing from the perspective of Mosses’s law, but grace allows her. Jesus Christ responded to this woman even when society was not on her side. Just for us to know that God does not respond to our request based on who we are but how we intensively believe His Word. “Jesus said to him, “if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23.
One requirement for God’s healing is to believe. Impossibility can be change to possibility through your active belief in God’s Word.
“The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. V.13. Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. Matthew 8:8,13.
The story of the centurion man in this scripture gave us a picture of what was to take place after the cross and how we are to respond to God’s Word in other to receive healing. The Greek woman and the centurion man are unbelievers who believed God’s Word and receive what they believe irrespective of their background. Before the cross, Jesus Christ was with us in human flesh, and now, after the cross, that same Jesus is still with us in Spirit and the Word.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.
It wasn’t their religious background; neither because of their good works that make the Greek woman and the Centurion man healed. It was because they put their faith; in other words, they believe the words of Jesus.
The good news is that we are in a better covenant now after the cross. Before the cross, people will look for Jesus so that they can talk with Him or ask Him to come to their house. Some will wait on the street for Him in other to be healed. But praise God; now, Jesus is residing in our heart. The one people were running after, waiting for, looking for, so they could get their healing, is currently living in us.
“And the testimony is this: God has given us eternal life [we already possess it], and this life is in His Son [resulting in our spiritual completeness, and eternal companionship with Him]. He who has the Son [by accepting Him as Lord and Savior] has the life [that is eternal]; he who does not have the Son of God [by personal faith] does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life. 1 John 5:11-13.
If you are born again, you now have the healer and the healing in you. Some of us are still waiting for Him or going about looking for Him for healing. Some are even making comments like “I’m” believing God for healing; God has not responded in other words. Let’s take a second look at the scripture again. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:11,12.
His very life is in you if only you have accepted Him into your hearts. We accept Jesus by believing His Lordship with our heart and then confess His Lordship with our mouth; then you are sure of Him being in you.
“For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. Romans 10:10.
We Christians have a better advantage in healing because the healing and the healer are residing in us. The problem of Christians is how they can get the healing out from within them. God’s Word is like a seed. The potential of the seed is seen when it has been planted. When you locate God’s Word on health, believe the Word you have found, then nurture it through confession and meditation, it will give birth to healing.
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Proverbs 4:20-22.
THREE WAYS TO STAY HEALTHY AS CHRISTIANS
Knowledge of The Word of God:
“Now I commit you to God and to the Word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” Acts 20:32.
The knowledge of God’s Word is the number one thing to maintain the victory Christ has given to us. I am not talking about mental assent (head knowledge). The knowledge I am referring to is revelation knowledge (insight) of the Word of God. We cannot acquire knowledge through prayers, and there is no substitute for knowledge. We cannot be in full control of our life and territory if we are not informed of who we are in Christ; therefore, it is essential to study the Word.
Satan is not in control; he has been defeated, but he takes advantage of our ignorance to weaken our victory in Christ. The scripture says, “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. Hosea 4:6.
True freedom is knowing who you are in Christ, and that knowledge is found in the Word.
Meditating on the Word:
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 1 Timothy 4:15.
Meditation is thinking on the Word of God, giving it a deep thought, rolling the Word over and over in our heart and Spirit, and through the process of meditation, revelation knowledge is born. Meditating on the Word moves the Word from head knowledge to our Spirit, and from our Spirit, it brings forth fruits. The Word is not likely to profit us unless it passes through meditation.
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8.
Speaking Wisdom:
“Howbeit we speak Wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the Wisdom of this world, nor the princes of this world, that come to naught: But we speak the Wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden Wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 1 Corinthians 2:6,7
Speaking Wisdom is speaking the Words of God irrespective of what you might be going through; Where you are boldly speaking the Word of God over your life.
It is wise to speak differently from the other people in your environment; God’s Word is the Wisdom of God. Every kingdom has its way of speaking, and we are of the heavenly kingdom; that is why our language needs to be different.
You speak faith and not fear; you speak what you want to see and not what you are experiencing. Heaven and earth have different principles, they have a different way of operation, and the bible makes it clear that we are of the heaven where God resides. That is why we need to speak His kind of language, which is His Word. Speaking Gods Words is speaking His language, and that is the language Satan obeys. God’s Word is Wisdom. Jesus Christ defeated Satan with the words of the Father.
“The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.“ Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.‘” Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,“ he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.‘“ Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.‘“ Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,“ he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.“ Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only. Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him Matthew 4:3 – 11.
