HOW TO START ALL OVER AGAIN
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13,14.
Don’t let past and present circumstances hold you hostage! Let Go”. A new day is like a new page, brand new, crisp, and nothing on it. Yesterday might be a bit ripped and torn, so crumpled that when you try to straighten it, you can’t make it look good. But you can move forward by forgetting those things which are behind.” So be aware you have a blank page in front of you. Many of us would change parts of our past if we could. But it’s not necessary. The future has a better advantage for you to utilize.
History is in your past; you can never move forward by hanging on to it. If you look back at all the previous years while trying to reach out to the present and next year, you will not get anywhere. Last year may look like it was challenging for some of you. But to move forward, you can not hold on to what you think happened to you several years ago. But you can change what happens in the future. It is up ahead, but your past is behind.
Apostle Paul was an expert in forgetting the past. There were things he wished he would not have done, but God still used him. He even had a future. So do not think that you do not have a future because of your past. Not at all. Your future is unwritten. It is empty, waiting for you to customize it. So don’t hold back; let go of yesterday to do something about your future. If you do not do anything today concerning your future, the enemy will take advantage of it by imposing things you might not want.
Be sober, be vigilant; your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8.
CONSCIOUSLY MAKE THINGS HAPPEN
At the end of every year, different organizations, clubs, industries, ministries, etc., usually come up with a new year’s slogan. But just because you hear a creative slogan does not automatically mean it will happen for you. You have to take hold of the Word consciously, or it goes. People can say things, but it doesn’t make them real. You got to believe it for yourself and be conscious of them.
Many people sit around waiting and thinking, “This year was supposed to be great!” yes, you are correct, but it won’t be a good year if your expectations are wrong; it will be what you expect. ” For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Proverbs 23:18.
Did you realize that God never promised us a good economy? But He did promise us abundant life. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10. A low economy does not mean it will be bad for you. You can make money when nobody else can. Money is in problem-solving, and there is always a problem in society. It means there is still a better economy for people who can see what others cannot see.
KEEP YOUR FOCUS RIGHT
People would like to believe but don’t take it for themselves. So if you want a breakthrough year, then take it. Start saying what you want; in the Christian kingdom where you belong, they don’t talk about problems but speak about solutions.
“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”. 2 Corinthians 4:18.
“(as it is written, ”I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Romans 4:17.
Faith is looking beyond what you see in the natural because what you see is what you believe. So it doesn’t matter what happens around you when you are convinced of what God has said. If you believe it, that settles it.”
SPEAK WHAT YOU BELIEVE
When people say anything contrary to God’s Word, it shows they don’t believe. They might desire something but don’t think they will receive it. So when something terrible happens, they say, “Well, that was bound to happen. I knew it was too good to be true.”
I don’t want to call people liars, but some Christians lie about their faith. They say they are acting in faith, but they are not. If they believed, they wouldn’t say some of the things they said. I understand we are human, but you have to decide that it doesn’t matter what happens; you will believe in God.
If you want every second, day, month, and year to be better than the previous, then start believing it. If you’re going to experience breakthrough seasons, stay in faith and keep saying it. It is not a one-time confession. You don’t say something once, and it is over.
So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Romans 10:17.
Every time you hear a message or read God’s Word you are standing on, say aloud what you believe. Then, my brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, James 1:2. It doesn’t say it’s always joyful, but you act the opposite because that is the truth, and that is what you want to experience. It doesn’t matter what you are going through; God is right no matter what.
Praise Him because He is reliable and will get you through anything. Circumstances are temporal. Don’t let them defeat you. Sometimes you have to decide to have the right attitude no matter what.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7.
GOD HAS YOUR BACK
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He, Himself, has said, ”I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5.
No matter where you are or who you are around, you are never alone. In every situation, Jesus is with you all the time. The enemy is a liar. He will try to knock you off your feet and tell you that you are alone, or you won’t be any better.
The enemy aims to still your joy. The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10a.
He knows the Lord has given you the strength to stand firm in facing challenges. So do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10b.
So choose to be joyful irrespective of what is happening around you. That might be a good start for some of you. If you start choosing joy, things will change for you, and people will treat you better. Positive people are contagious. Once you decide that your everyday life will be better, you need to make it happen by corresponding to God’s Word. God won’t do it because He has already done it all through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Therefore, you are responsible for yielding to His Word and acting on it. Is that simple? Yes, it is.
For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory. 2 Corinthians 1:20.
