HOW TO STOP CANCER SPREAD
God is a good God! He is merciful, kind, and gracious; He’s a Loving God. Perhaps a tragedy has happened to someone around you, or you did something wrong, and you are full of guilt and condemnation, wondering if you could be forgiven or given a second chance. I have good news for you. All your past, present, and future wrongdoings have been forgiven. He repeatedly voiced it out in three chapters. “He also says: “Their sins and their evildoing I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10:17. Hebrews 8:12. Jeremiah 31:34.
A DISEASE CALLED CANCER
Cancer has been recorded as an epidemic disease for a long time. It has taken countless lives globally. As a result, Government and private agencies have invested millions of dollars in searching for a cure. I praise all the researchers and scientists for their effortless hard work. Unfortunately, it has not been publicly declared that there is a specific cure for cancerous diseases, irrespective of the million-dollar investment.
Colossians 3:13. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
As a missionary, Christian counselor, and traveling minister, I have seen many Christians become sick and die too soon, not necessarily because of their illness but because of their inability to forgive offenders from their hearts. A joyful heart is a good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22.
For example, a lady died of cancer because she wouldn’t forgive her husband, who was living wild and wouldn’t go to Church. Finally, if he did go for a Sunday service, everyone rejoiced and considered it a miracle. But she wouldn’t stop worrying over her husband and holding grudges against him; that was the reason for her cancer.
She didn’t die of cancer because cancer was a great enemy. No, she died of cancer because she just didn’t let cancer go; the cancer was the unforgiveness she harbored in her heart. So, understanding something about forgiveness it’s a tool, a marvelous tool for your happiness. You don’t forgive others because they were so wrong and you were so right; it’s got nothing to do with right and wrong. So, instead, you do something for your happiness; it’s in your interest to bear no grudge or be bitter against anyone.
I’m aware that the callous actions of others could badly hurt us. Nonetheless, holding on to the pain and grudge of such experiences can only wound your emotions further and cause damage to your spiritual life. To be unforgiving is to allow circumstances to rob you of your joy in life, but forgiveness is a tool for happiness.
Never resent others for what they did to you; learn to forgive. Don’t even wait for them to apologize. Instead, let the love of God in your heart, not an apology from those who wrong you, be your inspiration for forgiving their faults. Let God’s essence within you flow like a stream as you relate with others in love.
A Wise Man once said unforgiving is like drinking poison and expecting somebody else to die. Proverbs 17:22. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. So maintain a forgiving heart all the time, and you’ll live a happy and exciting life and continually enjoy the pleasantness of other people.
DON’T TAKE THE OFFENDER’S REWARDS
Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. Luke 17:1.
Who hasn’t been hurt by the actions or words of another? Perhaps a parent constantly criticized you growing up, a colleague sabotaged a project, or your spouse cheated on you. Or maybe you’ve had a traumatic experience, such as being physically or emotionally abused by someone close to you. These wounds can leave resentment, bitterness, anger, and sometimes even hatred.
But if you hold on to that pain, you might be the one who pays most dearly. By embracing forgiveness, you also can embrace peace and hope. Consider how forgiveness can lead you down the path of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
WHAT IS FORGIVENESS?
Forgiveness means different things to different people. But in general, it involves intentionally letting go of resentment and anger.
The act that hurt or offended you might always be with you. But working on forgiveness can lessen that act’s grip on you. It can help free you from the control of the person who harmed you. Sometimes, forgiveness might even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy, and compassion for the one who hurt you.
Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you. It doesn’t necessarily mean making up for the person who caused the injury. Instead, forgiveness brings peace that lets you focus on yourself and helps you continue with life.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times Matthew 18:21-22.
When you forgive, you are the one who benefits. Not forgiving places you at a severe disadvantage, and as a child of God, you should act like your heavenly Father, who never recalls your offenses.
2 Corinthians 5:21. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Three BENEFITs FROM FORGIVING
ONE:
The first benefit of forgiving others is keeping the door closed against the devil and every offender. When you do not forgive, you open the door to bitterness and malice, both of which are satan’s keys to entering a person’s life. Ephesians 4:26-27. “In your anger, do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
TWO:
The second benefit of forgiving others is that when you do, the power of God in your life continues to flow unhindered. Remember that God is love, and His power functions in the atmosphere of love. But when you do not forgive others, malice can creep in and short-circuit God’s power in your life. This happened to the Prophet Elisha in the Bible 2 Kings 3. Elisha was so angry and bitter against the King of Israel that he could not hear what the Spirit was saying. Instead, he had to call for a musician to play so the anointing could come on him.
THREE:
Lastly, forgiving others will keep you in good health. People who harbor unforgiveness in their hearts are susceptible to sickness and disease. The bitterness in their hearts affects their physical bodies and manifests as cancer and all other illnesses. Some people are sick and miss God’s blessings because they refuse to forgive. So, make up your mind to always forgive those who wronged you.
If you forget how good God has been to you, you may find it difficult to forgive others when wronged. But when you appreciate the mercy you received from the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, you will find it easier to have compassion and forgive others when they have hurt you.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:3-4
AVOID EMPTINESS
Matthew 12:43. When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest and finding none.
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick. Matthew 8:16.
From the above scriptures, it is clear that spirits are behind most sicknesses. And Christ warns us explicitly to be sensitive over our lives against the evil spirit that works behind illnesses. So be sober, be vigilant; your adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8.
Jesus told us to protect our bodies from the enemy’s second attack, the devil. The kind of protection Christ is talking about wasn’t mounting security cameras over our lives but investing in relevant knowledge that exposes our lives to His Words. When you are full of God’s Word, not head knowledge, an adequate revelation of His Word will keep the evil one away from you.
Mattew 12:44 to 45 says Then he saith, I will return to my house from whence I came out; and when he comes, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
THE HOME OF SATAN
Bitterness is the dwelling place of satan. You can get offended, but how long do you stay offended? First, be aware that Satan takes advantage of every room we open. So we should be sensitive enough to short those doors and be mindful that unrealistic expectations of someone offend.
See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:15.
Love people, but trust God. If you trust people instead of God, you will die so early. Why? Because God never told us to put our confidence in Men. Having unrealistic expectations of human beings is the worst mistake ever to make. Why? The reason is that human beings in the human body never keep to their word. We humans all need help. God is the only person who doesn’t need help, so our eyes should be on Him, not Man.
Most of us are revised. We tend to trust people more than God, especially the Government. We say with our leaps that we trust God, but deep down in our hearts, that is untrue. Our complete trust is in humans, so we become offended and bittered when our expectations are unmet. The Lord says this: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5.
Praise God! Christ had delivered us from every curse, so we don’t have to be bittered. Galatians 3:13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree.”
A JOYFUL LIFESTYLE
Satan goes after people’s joy: That is why God warns us to protect our hearts. In Proverbs 4:23. Guard thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.
Joy is an emotion evoked by satisfaction, appreciation, and pleasure. God was joyful when He created the earth. He appreciated what He made and took pleasure in it: “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day” Genesis 1:31.
The joy you have is not of this world but of God. Therefore it’s independent and non-reliant on external circumstances. 1 Peter 1:8 describes it as “…joy unspeakable and full of glory.” Everywhere Jesus went during His earthly walk, He brought people joy, which He still does today. Having been born again, we’ve been brought into eternal bliss. The Bible says in Romans 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
The joy that comes from the inner man exceeds physical circumstances; it’s permanent and will keep you strong and alive. The Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22. So learn to be joyful and maintain a happy spirit always. Joy is a feature of the recreated human spirit Galatians 5:22, and it’s the nature of the recreated human spirit to be joyful at all times.
You can generate spiritual joy from your spirit by making melodies and singing new songs of joy from your spirit unto the Lord. The Lord delights to hear your joyful praise. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “…for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” God needs you to be joyful so that you can transfer that joy to your environment. You cannot make others joyful unless you’re joyful yourself.
Maintain a joyful attitude today and always, and allow your joyful spirit to dictate everything about your life: “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” Isaiah 12:3; how instructive! It means you must be joyful to experience the benefits of your salvation; you unwrap all the great and glorious blessings embedded in the salvation package through joy.
The number one target the enemy does is go after your heart. So, to make you unhappy. Therefore, proverbs 4:23. Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.
“Relationship with God [Christianity] is not about how much we work extremely hard to please God; it is about knowing who He is and experiencing Him.”
