SEVEN BENEFITS OF WALKING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT
God is a good God! He is merciful, kind, and gracious; He’s a Loving God. Perhaps a tragedy has happened to someone around you, or you did something wrong, and you are full of guilt and condemnation, wondering if you could be forgiven or given a second chance. I have good news for you. All your past, present, and future wrongdoings have been forgiven. He repeatedly voiced it out in three chapters. “He also says: “Their sins and their evildoing I will remember no more.” Hebrews 10:17. Hebrews 8:12. Jeremiah 31:34.
Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?
ACTS 19:1-6. While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. Paul said, “John’s Baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
Many of you have heard about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said you would receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You may have even received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which includes many things. It includes speaking in tongues. But, unfortunately, that’s where most people settle.
I have discovered that many people have had this experience; they have spoken in tongues but don’t understand the actual use and benefit of speaking in tongues. They might do it when they first receive it, and if excited, they might speak in tongues every once in a while, but there is much more to it than that.
The Bible says that when you speak in tongues, your Spirit is praying. Then it gives you a command. “If you speak in tongues, also pray that you may interpret,” 1 Corinthians 14:13. So when you speak in tongues, the Bible says you are praying the hidden wisdom of God.
Instead of this just being gibberish or saying something that gives you an emotional high, you speak in the “tongues of man and of angels,” 1 Corinthians 13. You are speaking the hidden wisdom of God. All you have to do is pray that you interpret.
I have been in situations where I couldn’t figure out what to do. It was beyond my human ability to figure out what to do. So I would start praying in tongues, believing that my Spirit knew what to do. I would ask God for an interpretation. Time after time, I have seen God give me supernatural wisdom. The benefits of the Holy Spirit have transformed my life.
Did you know if you have the baptism of the Holy Spirit to speak in tongues, you can do that? You have the answer inside of you. You have to draw it out. Speaking in tongues is like a bucket. You put it in a well and draw out this wisdom. So I encourage you to speak in tongues and ask God for an interpretation any time you pray.
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13.
IT BEGINS WITH A FELLOWSHIP
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
2 CORINTHIANS 13:14
“The communion of the Holy Spirit” in verse above refers to the partnership, communication, or fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It involves talking with Him, yielding to His Lordship and guidance, sharing your thoughts with Him, and receiving His thoughts in your spirit and through the Word. This is what marks you out for extraordinary success in life.
Some haven’t understood the incontrovertible benefits and blessings of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Fellowship with the Spirit should take or form most of your daily routine. He wants to be involved with every part of your life.
Christians who take their fellowship with the Holy Spirit seriously are often shielded and protected from chance and unfortunate occurrences. He said in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Think about that! But then, in the next verse 9, He gave a strong warning: “Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which has no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle…” Psalm 32:9.
Sometimes you hear, “Twenty-five people were killed in an inferno, and a Christian sister was among them .” Or you hear, “Brother so and so was traveling to see his parents, there was an accident, and he died.” It’s not supposed to be so! There are no accidents or mishaps to a child of God who’s in tune with the Spirit, filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
When you’re yielded to the Spirit and the Word, the Bible says you “…shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil” Proverbs 1:33.
Develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. Know Him for yourself. Commune with Him constantly in prayer and through meditation on the Word. Remember He’s the Helper, Counselor, Teacher, Advocate, Comforter, Strengthener, and Standby that Jesus said the Father would send us.

The Holy Spirit will strengthen you.

The Holy Spirit will build your faith.
JUDE 20. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; John 16:13a.
The Holy Spirit speaks to you on God’s behalf.
For He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; John 16:13b.
The Holy Spirit will tell you things that are yet to happen.
And He will tell you things to come. John 16:13c.
DON’T IGNORE THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is Our Advantage
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever John 14:16.
Listening to the Holy Spirit and following His leading and guidance is so essential in the life of every child of God. So many today have gotten into the wrong jobs and relationships and made terrible decisions because they ignored the counsel of the Holy Spirit. God the Father is in heaven, and so is the Lord Jesus. But the Holy Spirit is here with us, as the administrator of the grace of Jesus Christ and the love of God in our lives today. He’s the one that makes the presence of the Lord Jesus real to us. He communicates the mind of the Father to everyone who has received Him.
No wonder Jesus, before His ascension, said, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abode with you forever” John 14:16. Those who ignore the Holy Spirit can’t experience God’s love in reality. Life is unexciting, hard, rough, and challenging without the Holy Spirit. Someone once said, “The Christian life is very challenging; it’s fraught with too many problems.” Well, that’s for the one who ignores the Spirit. I’ve been a Christian for a long time, and for me, it’s been a smooth sail, from glory to glory! My life experience has been consistent progress, lasting success, and recurrent victory. It’s an excellent, outstanding, and glorious experience if you learn to walk with the Holy Spirit.
When you’re acquainted with the Holy Spirit, you won’t consider any challenge you might face as obstacles to your faith; you’ll see them as bread. James 1:2 says count it all joy when you
fall into divers tests. Why? There’s one living in you that helps you win and puts you over all of life’s challenges: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4. The Holy Spirit was sent to help you live the overcoming life and bear you up in times of weaknesses and limitations. Romans 8:26; take advantage of Him.
Recognize the personal ministry and the benefits of the Holy Spirit in your life and learn to walk with Him. He’s more concerned and passionate about your success than you could ever be. And as you yield to Him, He’ll perfect all that concerns you and lead you from glory to glory.
“Relationship with God [Christianity] is not about how much we work extremely hard to please God; it is about knowing who He is and experiencing Him.”
