The Holy Spirit is Our Advantage

The key to living a healthy life on earth is the Holy Spirit. However, many of us who have the Holy Spirit still go through many things that we shouldn’t. Most of us still experience the same problems people without the Holy Spirit do. We wonder, “What’s the advantage of having the Holy Spirit if the same things that happen to others who don’t have the Holy Spirit happen to us?”

The Holy Spirit has a ministry in our physical body just as He does in our spirit and soul; we must learn about it so we can take advantage of it in our life.

When we were born again, it wasn’t just our Spirit that became one with Christ, as 1 Corinthians 6:17.   Says, “But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.” Our physical body also became a part of Him. “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?…” 1 Corinthians 6:15.

This means that Christ functions through our bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19 expresses a similar thought. It says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; He owns us; We don’t belong to ourselves or even to our earthly parents; we belong to God. (Read more of 1 Corinthians 6)

God purchased us with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and now we have the responsibility to glorify Him in our body. “you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:20. We are just caretakers of our bodies for the Lord. We should care for our bodies in ways that please the Lord. Let neither acts of sin nor sickness rule our bodies anymore. We should not use our bodies as instruments of unrighteousness but submit our bodies to the Lord.

If there is anything in our bodies that is not from God, we ought to insist that our bodies comply with God’s word and not to accommodate satanic influences. We should say, “No! I refuse to be sick! My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I command every organ in my body to submit to the word of God; I refuse to accept this pain or infection. Leave my body now in Jesus Name! Amen. We have to be aggressive toward the things we do not want.

“And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: “I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people” 2 Corinthians 6:16.

‘Walk,’ in this context, means walking to supervise a valued property or to watch over something in other to ensure everything is in good other, with no intruder(s). This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our bodies. He walks through our body, thus renewing our physical bodies and maintaining them in the best condition.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

Engaging with the holy Spirit

Know His Functions

Another ministry of the Holy Spirit in our body is to give us life and keep us alive when there is an intruder, like an illness that is not supposed to be found in us. “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11.

When the Holy Spirit is in us, no sickness or infection should have the power or ability to break our bodies. The Holy Spirit is always at work in us, so our body should never be brought down by sickness or diseases. We should remember that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; He lives in there. That is the reason we should never give up. “Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. 2 Corinthians 4:16.

Take Advantage

We should take advantage of the ministry of the Holy Spirit that has been freely giving to us by our heavenly Father. In Matthew 14:24-33, the Bible provides us with the account of Peter walking on water. “But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:30. Jesus immediately reached out, got hold of him, and asked, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31. The story tells us something vital. If Jesus hadn’t done something to save Peter, he would have drowned right in His presence.

Some of us suffer in the presence of God because of fear. It is not enough to say, “I believe in God,” or “Christ lives in me.” We have to take advantage of His presence. Act on His Word. If He Has said it, He will do it.

Recognize Him

We should recognize Him and give Him the liberty to work in our lives. We get to understand and separate Christianity from religious practice. Christianity is us living and expressing the life of Christ here on earth. Christianity is a relationship between Christ and us, and that relationship transforms us into His image. So, we have to recognize His presence in us and give Him the pre-eminence in our lives.

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Activate His Power

We activate His power through our words of faith. In Matthew 14:24-33. When Peter stepped out in faith, he ignited the ability of God and walked on water. But when fear attacked his heart, he began to go down. Anxiety activates the power of darkness and failure, but faith always starts the power of God.

We should speak words of faith to our bodies at all times; we should not speak negative words of fear and unbelief. The Holy Spirit is at work in our bodies, and He gives life to our bodies. Therefore, no sickness can remain.

As we do this consistently with faith in our hearts, we will find out that the power of God will always be ignited in our life, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our bodies will become our everyday experience.
