Turning your bread into Seed Graphic

Turning your bread into seed

“We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.  “Bring them here to me,” he said. Matthew 14:17, 18. Here Matthew speaks on Turning Your Bread Into Seed.

The five loaves and two fishes had the potential to meet the need for feeding the multitude in the eyes of Jesus, whereas in the eyes of the disciples, all they could see was lack and insufficiency. Jesus Christ saw exceedingly more than they could imagine, and His vision unlocked the power of grace. So, that which was considered insufficient by the disciples became more than enough.

The five loaves and two fishes had two potentials locked within. The first potential was to be a child’s lunch and nothing more. The other potential is to multiply it to feed thousands.

Having the vision to see increase and growth will determine what you will do with the potentials, resources, talents, and gifting you possess. In the miracle of the loaves, the loaves and fishes didn’t change; they were bread for food or seed for multiplication by the sower. Jesus saw an increase and multiplication that others did not see.

What we see determines what we can potentially reap in life. Those who see only problems and challenges will live on the level of difficulties. In contrast, those who can see potentials in their seed (talents, resources, skills, and abilities) and utilize and grow it irrespective of the circumstances and challenges there might be will eventually reap a greater harvest in return.

Five dollars can be a hamburger, or it can be multiplied with the eye of vision by investing, propelled by faith. Jesus said, “ Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit. John 12:24.

When you look at your resources, whether they be mental, spiritual, or material, what do you see? What you see will either bring a future of lack and discouragement, or it can be the seed of God’s abundance. Naturally, a seed doesn’t look significant to the eyes but has excellent potentials in it to grow and multiply.

WALK IN THE SPIRIT

A seed is essential because if you have no seed in you, you will stop producing. A seed is that which contains the life principle of anything.

“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first, make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up, and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.'” She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and the woman and her family. 1 Kings 17:12-15.

This woman saw no potential nor future in what she had. There is always something to do with the little thing you might have; the difference is the eye you are using to look at things.

God gives seed for continuity and multiplication. Every fruit depends on its seed. If you lose your seed, you have lost an asset. No seed, no fruitfulness.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. Genesis 1:11.

Without a seed sown, there will be no harvest and no turning our bread into seed. A seed is that which you put your faith into, which is anything you might have that can not meet your need in natural circumstances, just like the position that Jesus Christ was in our open scripture. What they had could not meet their demand in the natural situation, but Jesus Christ having a deep understanding of the principle of increase and the potentials in a seed, He converts the seed into surplus.

Key takeaway points:

  • Develop your vision to see growth and increase beyond your present circumstance.
  • Grow the little seed you have today for a prosperous and rewarding future
